hi, i’m ALANA
I'm a Canadian copywriter, journalist and lifelong curious person. I make complicated things easier to understand, interesting stories worth telling and good ideas harder to ignore.
My career began in journalism, where I learned to ask better questions, find the story beneath the surface and make unfamiliar subjects accessible to everyday readers. After studying journalism at Sheridan College and earning my BFA from the University of New South Wales, I went on to write for national and international publications, exploring everything from cannabis and culture to health, business and technology.
Over time, that editorial foundation evolved into a career in commercial copywriting. I've worked with businesses across industries, helping them untangle complex offerings, sharpen their messaging and communicate with greater clarity and confidence.
I've also been an entrepreneur, founding and selling businesses of my own. That experience has shaped how I approach my work. I understand that words aren't just there to sound good. They should help people make good choices.
Today, I bring together journalistic curiosity, strategic thinking and an appreciation for the wonderfully complicated ways people communicate. I like asking the questions others haven't thought to ask, finding the thread that connects everything and turning it into something people actually want to read.
Have a complicated idea, an interesting challenge or a story worth telling?
Let's talk.
